This workshop isn’t about having the “right” camera.
It’s about learning to see, to connect with the purpose and the emotions you want to transmit before you shoot.
We’ll work with real food, natural light, and simple tools the way moms, bakers and food makers actually live and create.
No rushing. No over-styling. No technical overwhelm.
If you bake, cook, or create with your hands and want to photograph your food with calm and confidence, this space is for you

In the Before the Click workshop, you will first learn how to observe with intention and translate your ideas into images using simple concepts that guide how a photograph is created. You will understand the three key parameters that shape light, exposure, and image quality.
From there, we will explore practical ways to use and gently manipulate natural light
in food scenes. You will practice the most effective shooting angles and learn ho to thoughtfully arrange elements to create balanced, aesthetically pleasing Compositions.
We will also cover how to choose props and backdrops that support your story without overwhelming the food. Finally, we will finish with basic editing in free mobile apps or PC to enhance your image and prepare it confidently for sharing with the world.

✔All practical exercises in the workshop come fully supported: you’ll have access to a variety of food, backdrops, and reflectors so you can focus entirely on learning and experimenting.

My name is Maria Angelica Garcia, Im Colombian- French, I began my career as a petroleum engineer, working internationally in the oilfield industry for seven years.
After leaving my corporate role, I felt called to slow down and change my lifestyle.
I started documenting the family recipes I was preparing at home, and food photography became my way of preserving those moments. What began as simple documentation grew into my breakfast eBook, my food blog, and eventually SpiceUp Soul Photography.
Since 2016, I’ve studied composition, still life, and styling. I became an iStock and 500px contributor, participated in exhibitions, and had my images published in international magazines. As a baker, I approach food with care and respect. My style is rooted in chiaroscuro, moody light, cozy, rustic scenes, and honest storytelling.
Recently, I’ve simplified my compositions, removing props to let the food shine.
I understand the emotion and effort behind every dish. My goal is to help you create beautiful images with confidence, clarity, and calm without pressure or overwhelm.
My photographic work has been featured in International magazines such as: GQ, MIA, Urbanitas, Emprendedores & Men’s Health. Exhibited in The Philosophy of Food (2022) group Exhibition hosted by Tashkeel Dubai & local artist exhibition in RAW Coffee (2024) where I sold my still-life food photography ” Green Bouquet” , additionally, I won multiple Foodelia awards (2020-2021).
